A
note from Pastor Nils:
At the heart of what we are about is this core belief: God wants
to change the world by touching lives in Pullman. Since people come
to Pullman from all parts of the world this is not a far-fetched
idea. It is a very real possibility. And God has asked Cornerstone
to be a part of doing that.
To be part of that we need to be a healthy church. One which functions
according to giftedness and helps people develop a conversational
relationship with Jesus Christ. As we grow in these ways we will
be used of God to accomplish his purposes. We will be used of him
to touch lives in Pullman and thus to change the world (Matthew
28:18-20).
Our name is a reflection of what God has in mind for us. "Cornerstone"
means many things, but certainly that God is building something-a
healthy church body. "Community" conveys that we want to be used
by God to touch our community, but specifically it says that we
are about relationship (with Jesus and each other). "Church" defines
us as a group of people called to focus upon and follow Jesus Christ
together.
If this brief synopsis resonates with you, I would be delighted
to have you check us out in person. As Andrew said to his brother,
Simon Peter, "Come and see!"
In His Grip,
Nils Swanson
