We have a saying at Cornerstone that God wants to change the World by touching lives in Pullman. Not only does God want to work in our lives, but he also chooses to work through us as well. Thus we need to find a balance between focusing on personal growth and looking beyond ourselves.

We long to be used of God to touch lives here in Pullman and because this is where we live the majority of the year, it is a little easier to do. We gather Sunday mornings, we are involved in small groups and we reach out to the community at large as opportunities present themselves.

We also serve elsewhere. Stateside our efforts have included short-term trips to San Francisco’s Tenderloin district to work with an inner-city mission. More recently we have been involved in sending teams to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. We anticipate that these kinds of ministry trips will continue into the future.

Overseas our focus is on the Democratic Republic of Congo. Nils went on a vision trip there in July, 2007 with the EFCA mission, ReachGlobal, to see how we might be involved. Currently there are several avenues of ministry we are looking into, anticipating that we will be partnering there for years to come.

We also have two couples who are serving the Lord elsewhere. Terry and Sarah Andrus serve with Urban Impact in the inner-city of New Orleans. Steve and Lisa Nelson serve with TouchGlobal in New Orleans, too, but are applying with ReachGlobal in hopes of serving overseas soon. Kaarin Swanson recently arrived in New Orleans to serve in the ministry there alongside Lisa.
